RGC's 2nd Appearance at Miss High Performance Canada

On Sunday, November 25 RGC will make its second appearance at the Miss High Performance Canada 2012 stage.

Our first performance at this pageant was one year ago, November 2011, where we took the mostly Afro-Caribbean and Hispanic audience on an 'Island Nostalgia' voyage. Our repertoire was a combination of sweet Caribbean Folk melodies and 'Dramady' depicting the dynamics relationship drama and the juicy gossip it provides in a post-colonial era. The connection was evident by the response and interaction from the audience.

This year the theme for Miss High Performance Canada is 'You Are Beautiful' and RGC will not disappoint.

Hope to see you there!

RGC Shares: AMA's Performances 2012- One word... "Pink"

As a person who supports and loves the arts, I have to share Pink's performance at the 2012 American Music Awards. Please see the link above if you haven't watched it yet. Besides all the performances at the AMA's being extremely entertaining, this one takes the cake on creative. It is definitely the best performance at the 2012 AMA's by any artist.

My main interest is in dancing and acting over singing. Pink merged everything into one breath-taking performance. She started in a stance similar to the "Gemini Special Fighting Stance" from the movie, "The Man with the Iron Fists", which recently came out. That beginning alone had me mesmerized  All I can think when I hear Pink is Amazing!

I would suggest you search on YouTube some of the other performances, as even Taylor Swift added so much more than her usual to her performance.

Now for the most popular performance of the night. PSY (The korean singer who is now viral) performed with MC Hammer. It was so much fun watching all the celebrities attempt to Gangnam Style style at their seats. No matter if you love it or not, this performance is one worth mentioning. Please see it below and let me know what you think...

RGC Family

Since RGC's beginnings in fall of 2010, as founder of the group, I have seen many persons come and go.

I have seen persons who have always wanted to perform but found it a daunting task due to their own perceive limitations; I have seen those who have 'the chops' to perform but just wanted a temporary avenue to express their talents; I have seen supporters and allies who have acknowledged the relevance of our group; I have also seen persons who are interested in being a part of a community of aspiring performers exploring their talents in a recreational and non-judgmental space while building relationship.

The latter are the people who have become our RGC Family and even they, at times, are not always able to consistently attend our rehearsals on Saturdays between  2p - 5p and every 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month between 6p - 8p @ The 519 Community Centre, 519 Church Street, Toronto ON.

Our RGC family is made up of an array of personalities with varied talent-sets, and just like the colors of the rainbow we blend those talents and personalities and are one; collectively creating artistically 'To Amuse, to Inspire, to Delight'. We have stayed, and are consistently working together to create a space where you too will feel free, comfortable and safe to explore your artistic talents. Join Us!

Hope to see you soon,

RGC Updates: Miss High Performance 2012 (Next Sunday)

So it's coming up next Sunday. If this is something you can do, take the time and come out!

I am sure you will be entertained. RGC will be there. If you can make it, come with us and support beauty at Toronto's Miss High Performance Pageant 2012!

Who will win the title this time?

RGC Shares: Loving Glee isn't the worst thing I could do...

So seeing we are a "glee" club. Me being a fan of the Glee TV series that most love or hate should not be too much of a surprise. I am also a fan of the musical "Grease". So last Thursday when the "Glease" episode came out, I was more than loving it.

The Glee Cast performed "There are worst things I could do" as a major dramatic point in the episode. This was a song I liked from Grease, but Glee found a way to make me love it.

What can I say- I am a sucker for drama, romance, music and dancing. Looking forward to eventually getting some of RGC's repertoire from musicals. We just have to choose the right ones... hmmm

PS- Just being a "Gleek" but if you like Grease you should definitely check out the other songs they covered from Grease.

RGC Performs: TP 2012- "Find Love and Dance With It!"

RGC's first performance at Toronto Pride 2012. Now look what we can do without a sound check! The audience sure look like they were enjoying the first part of our "Find Love and Dance With It" performance!
Bet you didn't see that coming. This is what we call Amusement. This was fun for us and I am sure it was for you too!

Let me know what you think...

RGC Performs: Island Nostalgia at 2011 Miss High Performance!

Last year the Rainbow Gleeques Coalition performed at the Miss High Performance 2011 Pageant.
(I do apologize for the bad video quality)

We called this performance "Island Nostalgia", which was a musical short story using many Jamaican classic songs.

This performance took me on an island trip down memory lane. Hope it does the same for others.

This was one of our first performances!

"Moonshine Tonight!"

RGC Updates: Back at Miss High Performance 2012

Rainbow Gleeques Coalition to perform on September 25th for Miss High Perfomance 2012!
The group's theme this time is all about love... and what better theme is there for a Pageant?

Looking forward to amuse, inspire and delight!
